Roofing Debris Weight Planning
Roofing tear-offs can combine high volume with significant weight. The amount of debris depends on the roof area, material type, number of layers and moisture or contamination.
Use the roof area and number of layers as a starting point for a rough estimate, but do not treat an online estimate as a guaranteed weight. Dense roofing debris can approach a weight limit before the container is visually full.
Tell the rental provider the approximate roof area, material type and number of layers when requesting a quote. Ask about weight limits and how overages are handled before loading.
Keep roofing debris distributed evenly and below the top edge. If the project includes other heavy material such as concrete or dirt, disclose it separately because it changes the planning calculation.
